Hello Folks. I have good news (I think..) I spoke with the Brewery's Area Manager re the Globe earlier this week. He tells me the plan is to re-open this coming Friday - Beer has already been delivered, and last-minute jobs are being done. You may have seen the 'Pub To Let' sign now on the wall of the Globe - whoever opens up on Friday will not be the permanent licensee, so we're not quite out of the woods yet. However, unless you hear from me to the contrary in the next couple of days, next Sunday's session at the Globe is ON.
Cheers, Pete.

I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to all of you who took part in the 12 hour sponsored music session on 5th February. The great news is that we've collected £1,013 in sponsorship and collections, and there's still some more sponsorship to come in. This is a fantastic amount and has made a big contribution towards the cost of bringing Regös, the group of Hungarian musicians and dancers, over to the StonyLive! Festival in June. We thoroughly enjoyed the day, and hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. What a great atmosphere it was, and such wonderful music and singing - thanks, of course, to you! You can catch Regös at various events while they are in Stony Stratford from 7-13th June.
See you soon
Best wishes
Yvonne

Message from Chris Harvey re. Cross Keys, Woolstone
Now then me Dears.
For all those who find going out to enjoy yourselves Every Friday too much you will be pleased to know that the Management, after much delibration, discussion and percussion, (namely beating our heads against a brick wall) have decided to run the glorious Cross Keys Session once a month on the last Friday. This means that you can all build up your stamina during your Fridays off for a good session, and on those occasions when it is a five week month, an extra week to power up and have a real hum dinger of a go at blowing the roof off!!!!!!!!!
The first session coincides with a Beer Festival, and there will be an abundance of various falling down waters of which to partake and maybe remember which one had the best effect!!!!!! If you can`t remember who cares.
Do come along and help us enjoy the night, we woud enjoy your company and your music.
We are as always your devoted Host and Hostess,
Chris an Hata & Eyewash O`Brady

Dear Friends, some of you may have heard that the Globe closed last Saturday. This is somewhat unexpected, but I can confirm that the pub is now going to be closed until the middle of March - next Sunday's session is therefore cancelled - sorry!
I spoke to the brewery yesterday, and it seems the problem is a legal issue concerning the terms of the lease, and the brewery is expecting to 'take possession' as they put it, on March 18th, after which time they are anxious to put someone in as soon as possible. The good news is that the brewery (And their Area Manager) now knows about us, and is keen to support any activity which uses the pub on a regular basis - the new incumbent will be advised accordingly.
Cheers, Pete.
