Sportsman's cancelled this week

Geoff informs that this week's session (Tuesday) at The Sportsman's Arms in Wing has been cancelled due to TV football. There will be a sing around session at The Queen's Head (Long Marston) this Wednesday October 21st.

Halloween session

Towcester open-mic has restarted

Craig Papworth has now re-started the Thursday evening open-mic he formerly ran at The Monk & Tipster in Towcester. The new venue is The Brave Old Oak, Market Square in Towcester and it takes place every Thursday starting 8.30 pm....All styles and abilities are welcome.

A good start at The Cock

With around fifteen musos in attendance the new session at The Cock in Roade got off to a well received and enthusiastic start. It has been decided that it will continue on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month with the next one on September 16th.....A very friendly venue and nice addition to the calendar.

White Horse one-off

There will be a one-off open acoustic session at the White Horse in Stony Stratford on Thursday, October 1st @ 8.30pm. It will launch a season of regular Thursday music nights at the venue. contact: Tim 01908 567082 website

New Session at Roade

Anja has informed that a new session will be getting off the ground at The Cock in Roade on Wednesday, September 2nd....It is likely to appeal to those with a taste for Irish music though all will be welcome whatever the flavour. Things get underway at 8.30pm.

Monk & Tipster 2

Craig apologizes for the lack of info regarding The Monk & Tipster session which is due to the landlord having left at short notice. The session is now on hold until further notice. However, Craig will be hosting an open mic session at The George in Tiffield this coming Wednesday (Aug.5th) at 8.30pm. All abilities are welcome. He can be contacted on 07702 692109.

From Geoff's message on the board there appears to be problems with the Monk & Tipster(Towcester) session on Thursday evenings....so until I can find out what the situation is, take Geoff's advice!

No Globe this month

Please note that there will be no session at The Globe (Hanslope) this coming Sunday (July 5th).

Hi folks. Because of so much going on around the first Sunday, and because so many regulars are either away or busy, we’ve decided to cancel the session for July. Queen’s Oak / Rose & Castle morris weekend is on, and the Queen’s Oak tour will be visiting the Globe on Saturday afternoon, from around 3 ish, and all teams will be dancing at the Boat, Stoke Bruerne, over lunchtime on Sunday. The Globe has a beer festival from Saturday 4^th (Will be very busy Sat & Sun) to Tuesday 7^th, when Queen’s Oak will be dancing there in the evening, and finishing the beer. If you are around, or simply can’t stay away, John will be more than happy to see you anytime at the Globe, or feel free to join us at the Globe on Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening, or on Sunday at the Boat.

French session moves

The French music & dance session has now migrated from The Navigation (nr. Castlethorpe) to the Old Stratford Community Centre (nr. traffic lights) for the summer months. I hadn't been informed so apologies to anyone who went to the Navigation last night and had a wasted trip due to inaccurate information on this website.
