Cuckoo's Nest

Jeremy's new session at The Cuckoo's Nest in Gawcott on Monday got off to a good start with a large turnout of players, many of who don't normally visit the more local sessions....A very enjoyable evening with a good selection of music.

Vaults re-opens

It appears that The Vaults Bar in Stony has now re-opened so I am assuming that the regular Sunday lunchtime session will now return to normal.

Old Black Lion session moves

Andrew informs that the session at The Old Black Lion in Northampton has now relocated at The Artizan (1st & 3rd Monday evening of month)....I don't know the location of The Artizan so a bit of research might be needed.

Vault's session has moved

Nick has informed that the Sunday lunchtime Vault's session in Stony has moved to the Fox & Hounds (in High Street) ....see message board. The Vault's Bar is presently closed until further notice.

New Inn has shut

Please note Geoff's message regarding the New Inn closure and cancellation of the session on April 6th....Presumably the last Monday of month session will be affected also.

Changes

The Sunday Madcap session in Wolverton has now finished.
The Forester's session in Stony Stratford has now changed to a weekly open mic.
Don't forget the one-off waterway sessions that Paul informed of earlier....These have been added to the weekly list in red.

St.Patrick's Session @ Gawcott

Jeremy has informed of a St.Patrick's session at Gawcott....see message board for details. Also good to see a new session at the same venue starting in April.

Waterway Sessions (Singing Boat Tour)

Paul (New Inn) has sent details of some one-off sessions that look fun to attend....Organised by some waterway touring friends they are on the following dates:

Sat 5th April - Red Lion - Fenny Stratford - evening
Sun 6th April - New Inn - New Bradwell - late pm/evening - A long one
Mon 7th - Boat Inn - Stoke Bruerne - evening
Weds 9th - Nags head - Gt Linford - evening
Fri 11th Red Lion again lunchtime session for the diehards!

I will put them on the weekly list at the time.

Also there will be a St.Patrick's "do" at The New Inn on March 15th featuring local group "Acchord" with 3 course meal....tickets £12 per head

Navigation will change weeks

The French session at The Navigation(nr.Castlethorpe) will be on March 11th (second Tuesday) this month but thereafter will be on the first Tuesday each month to avoid clashing with The Crown in Stony.

Musicians Needed

The Magic Wok in Newport Pagnell is celebrating the Chinese New Year and would like some session players to play on each of three nights this week Thursday, Friday & Saturday if possible, so if you fancy a night out on any of those evenings you would receive an enthusiastic welcome.

The Magic Wok is near the old Aston Martin factory.

Crown has re-started

I understand that the abandoned session at The Crown in Stony Stratford has now been revived....Once I get the details I'll put it back on the venues list.

The Wheatsheaf is back!

Stik informs that the Wheatsheaf at Brickhill has come back on line after vanishing from the list a couple of years ago....There will be a session at the venue on January 27th and, all being well, it will become regular on the last Sunday of the month replacing the Heath & Reach session.

Successful Wok!

It is pleasing to report that last night's session at "The Magic Wok" (spelt it right this time) was well received despite a slightly unusual venue and the lack of any Chinese tunes in the repertoire!....Free drinks and some tasty food helped make an enjoyable & lively evening....It will now be a regular event on the first Monday of the month.

Potential new session in Newport Pagnell

I have been informed of a potential new session that will have its inaugral try-out this coming Monday (January 7th)....Venue is "The Magic Wock"!! near the Aston Martin factory in Newport Pagnell....starts 8.00pm. If successful is likely to be a monthly event.

Sportsman's back on the list

Sally has informed that the session at The Sportsman's Arms in Wing will restart again on Tuesday, January 15th....it will be fortnightly thereafter....Good to hear!
