No Globe this month

Please note that there will be no session at The Globe (Hanslope) this coming Sunday (July 5th).

Pete Tales sent the following message....

Hi folks. Because of so much going on around the first Sunday, and because so many regulars are either away or busy, we’ve decided to cancel the session for July. Queen’s Oak / Rose & Castle morris weekend is on, and the Queen’s Oak tour will be visiting the Globe on Saturday afternoon, from around 3 ish, and all teams will be dancing at the Boat, Stoke Bruerne, over lunchtime on Sunday. The Globe has a beer festival from Saturday 4^th (Will be very busy Sat & Sun) to Tuesday 7^th, when Queen’s Oak will be dancing there in the evening, and finishing the beer. If you are around, or simply can’t stay away, John will be more than happy to see you anytime at the Globe, or feel free to join us at the Globe on Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening, or on Sunday at the Boat.

Towcester open mic session

Craig Papworth has sent in details of the open mic session he runs at The Monk & Tipster, London Road, Towcester. It is every Thursday starting at 8.30pm with all levels of ability and styles of music welcome.

Slapton cancelled this Sunday (June 14th)

Please note that the Carpenter's Arms session at Slapton has been cancelled this month owing to a private function.

French session moves

The French music & dance session has now migrated from The Navigation (nr. Castlethorpe) to the Old Stratford Community Centre (nr. traffic lights) for the summer months. I hadn't been informed so apologies to anyone who went to the Navigation last night and had a wasted trip due to inaccurate information on this website.

Easter Monday Gawcott

Jeremy has informed that the Easter Monday(2nd of month) session at The Cuckoo's Nest in Gawcott will go ahead as normal....Next week's list won't get posted until Tuesday due to weekend commitments.

The Artizan in Northampton which already runs a "slow" session on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month is also the venue for a general acoustic session on the last Saturday of the month (contact: Sam Kemp 01604 768201). Now added to the site's venues list is The Telegraph in Moulton near Northampton. This takes place on the 2nd Monday of the month.

"As part of an 'Oxjam' week of musical events in Leighton Buzzard, do come and join me on St Patrick's night - Tuesday 17th March – for a roving folk session around Leighton's town centre pubs (11 in total !), playing, singing and collecting money as we go for Oxfam. We will be starting at The Sun Inn, Lake Street, LU7 1RX at 7.00pm. If you can't make this earlier than usual time, then a list and order of the pubs we intend visiting, is on the Facebook page :

Bull session becomes a regular

It has been decided to continue last night's session at The Bull as a regular monthly event on the first Thursday. This now means that the Bull is host to three different sessions in various parts of the premises....the new session taking place in the facilities at the rear of the hotel accessed from the yard.

Dunstable session

Ash Austin has sent in details of an acoustic session in Dunstable....It takes place every Tuesday at The Globe, Winfield Street starting at 9.00pm....All types of music are welcome. I will add it to the listings asap.

Bull Hotel session this Thursday

Sarah informs that there will be an acoustic session at the rear of the Bull Hotel in Stony Stratford this coming Thursday (March 5th) at 8.30pm....whether this will become a regular event is uncertain at present.
